WINTER NEWSLETTER

Thank you to everyone that came out to our "Ocean to Everglades: Stories of the Sea" film screening last month!

We partnered with Sereia Films and screened short films focused on sustainable seafood and ocean livelihoods in Florida. Following the films, Sarah from Sereia moderated a panel of local community members from the conservation, fishing and seafood industries.

We hope to have more film events like this in 2023!

BLUE WATER TASK FORCE

Our Blue Water Task Force Lab is up and running at Ocean Studies Charter School in Key Largo!

We are looking for Volunteers!

〰️ 1-2 hour commitment for two consecutive days 2x/month.

〰️ Must pass a background check to volunteer.

〰️ Located in the Upper Keys

If you would like to volunteer to test local water quality reach out to Emily, our BWTF Coordinator below.

OCEAN FRIENDLY RESTAURANTS

Gardenia's Bistro located in Island Home Garden Center in Islamorada is our latest Ocean Friendly Restaurant. They are an amazing example of what an Eco Friendly Business should look like. Delicious, locally sourced food, 10% off for bringing your own containers or a small fee for plastic free to-go's, and a beautiful atmosphere.
